The Highway Transportation course is centered on a unique collection of Cargo Tank Models, and Props combined with a multi-media presentation to facilitate a state of the art training experience over a 12-hour course. The models include an MC 306, DOT 406, MC 307, DOT 407, MC 312, DOT 412, and an MC 331. These models can demonstrate the various methods of response and reinforce concepts taught at both the Operations and Technician level. A student manual will also be provided for each student.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the workshops the student should be able to:

bullet Determine the Correct Specification of a cargo tank.
bullet Understand Basic Construction Features of Cargo Tanks.
bullet Understand the purpose and Function of Safety Devices Associated with Cargo Tanks.
bullet Understand the Basic Operating Principles of Cargo Tanks.
bullet Understand the Liquid and Vapor Dynamics Associated with Cargo Tanks.
bullet Understand the Basic Principals that Govern Emergency Loading and Unloading.
bullet Be Familiar with Suitable Containment Techniques Associated with Specification Cargo Tanks.
bullet Understand Critical Elements of Cargo Tank Emergency Management.
